Farmers in Adamawa Decry Hike in prices of Farm Inputs

Farmers in Yola the Adamawa State Capital decry hike  in the prices of farm inputs.

The farmers were speaking against the backdrop of this year’s farming session.

For many decades farming has been contributing immensely in the productions of food and job creation.

However, this year’s farming session is faced with many challenges.

A farmer at Gerio farmland, Abdulrazak Abubakar, while decrying the increase in farming inputs, calls for intervention.

Responding, the acting secretary RIFAN Special Project Value Addition, Alh Muhammad Sani Jada said effort are being put in place to support farmers, urging them not to be discouraged.

Alh, Manu Ngurore of NACOTAN who says his association has already distributed tractors and improved seeds to farmers, lamented farmer’s attitude towards paying back loan.

On lingering farmer’s herder clashes, the chairman tabital pulaaku jonde jam Alh, Ya’u Isa and his vice Hassan Ali Soja proffer solution.

As the farming session continues, Government and stakeholders are expected to intervene in order to ease the difficulties farmers are facing.
