The Adamawa State Government has extended to a two-week period, the relocation of traders in Jimeta shopping complex Falluja market.
Commissioner for Commerce, trade and industry, Dr. Ishaya John Dabari disclose the development in an interview with NASFM News.
The two-week extension also befall on the attachee traders at the Jimeta Ultra-mordern market and that of shopping complex to prepare their relocations to the new sides.
Speaking, the commissioner for Commerce, trade and industry in Adamawa State, Dr. Ishaya John Dabari said the development followed the appeals by stakeholders and traders to enable them to complete their various works at the new location.
According to him, the expansion and construction of roads at the overhead bridge at the Mubi roundabout would also affect the some shops in the market, hence the need for relocation.
Dr. Dabari also called on the traders to comply with the Government directive, emphasize that at the expiration of the deadline the Government would not take it lightly.
Reacting, the chairman relocation committee, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’idu Jambo appealed for more time to traders at the critical time of harsh economy.
It could be recalled, that the Adamawa State Government had on the 28 of March this year issued a quiet notice to traders at the Jimeta shopping complex which was supposed to expire on Thursday, the 25th of April 2024, but changed its mind and extended another period of two-week that started Tuesday, the 23rd of this month.
