In a heartfelt message, Adamawa State’s Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called upon the Muslim community to continue embracing the virtues of sacrifice, discipline, and love, which are central to the Ramadan period, even after it concludes.
The statement was issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou.
Emphasizing the importance of reflection on the nation’s condition during this time, Governor Fintiri congratulated the Muslim community on fulfilling one of Islam’s Five Pillars. He highlighted the necessity of moderation in celebrations and acknowledged the rigorous commitment Muslims have shown through a month of fasting, prayers, and other forms of worship. He encouraged the faithful to persist in acts of charity, piety, and support for the needy, drawing from the lessons of Ramadan.
Governor Fintiri remarked, “The Holy Month of Ramadan offers a precious chance for our Muslim brethren to strengthen their bond with Allah and to cultivate a lifestyle marked by sacrifice, charity, and mutual love.”
He further noted the Eid festivities as a pivotal time to adopt the Ramadan teachings of altruism, devotion to God and humanity, and adherence to ethical behavior in both private and public spheres.
Urging unity and peace, Governor Fintiri stated, “We must uphold our shared identity and promote peace and unity among us, ensuring our nation’s continued greatness.”
He also reassured citizens of his government’s commitment to fulfilling its promises and called for collaborative efforts to advance the state’s peace initiatives.
