As the country’s economy continues to dwindle, some residents of Mubi, have lamented that the crisis is also affecting the rate of marriage across the town and the country by extension.
The residents stressed this in an exclusive interview with NASFM News.
Skyrocketing of prices of goods and commodities in the market have continued to be the nightmare of the people, as many opined that, it is even affecting the most sacred thing in the lives of the people, which is marriage, as it is the source of cycle of life between the people.
To this end, some students from the College of Health Technology Michika, Mubi campus, opined that many of the youths could not get married because the prices of commodities keep increasing by the day.
Also, some religious leaders in Mubi, Sheikh Muhammad Kabir from Lokuwa and Deen Reverend Kelvin Bulus Kadagini, explained that many youths have the intention of getting married, but are finding it difficult to provide the needful resources for it, called on the government to look into the situation inorder to avoid stories that touch the hearts.
Expressing the untold challenges he encountered during his wedding process because of the changes in the prices of goods in the market, one Malam Babangida, who recently got married in the previous month, called on the government to stabilise the country’s economic plight for the betterment of the masses.
On their part , Malam Ahmed Hayatu, the Village Head of Wuro Patuji and Malam Haruna Daddy, however noted that, the hardships in other way do not hinder the youths from getting married as they disclosed that if a person has the intention of marriage would not sit idle without seeking for any job inorder to be self reliant.
They therefore, called on them, to start an early preparation and learn to be economical inorder to hold and provide for a family.
