Consumers Express Dismay Over Hike Of Gari Price In Mubi

Sellers and buyers of GARI popularly known as (garin kwaki) in Mubi Town, have expressed dismay over the hike in the price of the commodity, which makes it unaffordable for a common man

The buyers and the sellers made the Lamentation while speaking to NAS FM NEWS, on how gari used to be the easiest food for poor people to buy, but now it is only affordable for the rich.

The increase in the price of gari is becoming a thing of concern to the residents of Mubi, where by a measure is being sold at the rate of three thousand five hundred naira.

It was against this backdrop that Mr Adamu Ali Gwaza, a gari seller who hinted that before now a bag of gari is three to four thousand naira but now is forty thousand naira, he said the situation is really bad

On his part Mr Joseph Pius who is the buyer expressed that last week he bought gary at the rate of three thousand but as of Monday is three thousand five hundred naira, he therefore appealed for government urgent intervention to save the lives of its citizens

Also speaking, Mr Emmanuel Israel Abbai, equally appealed to the government to do the needful as the lives of Nigerian people is at risk, adding that, the citizens voted for them to take care of them not to put their lives in danger.

It could be recalled that, before now gary is the most affordable food but it has become a hot cake now in Nigeria, hence the need for the government to look into the situation in order to prove a lasting solution.
