Muslims in Adamawa State has been call to strive to know the Islamic calendar and the role it plays in the lives of all Muslims in the society.

The council made this called Council on Saturday while conducted its Annual General Assembly and unveiled the 1445 Islamic calendar.

In his welcome address chairman of the council, Malam Gambo Jika said the Islamic calendar is important to all Muslims because it shows Muslims have strong roots and history.

Jika noted that the annual unveiling of the Islamic calendar is a reawakening call to all Muslims to come back to their roots as majority of the Muslims have lost touch with such very vital background.
He called on the Muslim community to continue supporting the council in order to continue carrying its activities including expansion of its hospital and maintaining its Da’awah programs.
Jika thanked governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri,
the Lamido of Adamawa and Muslims in the state for their support towards the upliftment of the activities of the council.

 

IN his lecture Professor Jidda Hassan Juma’a of the University of Maiduguri noted that the Islamic calendar is the original being cause it is the sighting of the moon.
The Islamic cleric took time to dissect the challenges of Muslim Ummah in the leadership of the 21st century.

Jidda told Ummah to have the Qur’an as their day to day activities adding that Quran is a solution of all problems all.

In his address Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State thanked the Muslim Council for organizing such an important event every year adding that it has over the years kept alive the important culture in the hearts of Muslims.
The governor who was represented by the Secretary to the state government, Barrister Auwal Tukur called ummah to contributed towards sustaining peace and unity to the development of the state and the nation at large noted that since every Islamic activity is tied to time, Muslims should strive to incorporate the Islamic calendar in their day to day activities.

In his Nasiha the royal father of the occasion Lamido Adamawa Dr. Muhammad Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa, urged Muslims to be law abiding citizens at all time
Lamodo Adamawa who was represented by the District head of Yola Alhaji Zubairu Adamu Bawuro Mustafa commended Muslim council for the good job rendering and urged Ummah to support the council for the betterment of all.

Earlier in his address the chairman of the occasion Doctor Muhammad Usman Degereji who double as provost FCE Yola, thank the council for working herd to see Muslims are in right track.
Degereji who is represented by Doctor Adamu Babokkoi called Muslim to be good ambassador of Islam and the council at any place the found themselves.
He also called on Ummah to support the council with necessary support to enable the council deliver it’s responsibility for the betterment of all Muslim Ummah.
