The month of Ramadan is attributed to forgiveness, deliverance from Hellfire, and contains a sacred night of Qadr in the last ten days that opens doors to mercy and unequal grace.
Chief Imam Modibbo Adama University Jumma’at Mosque, Sheikh Malami Garba, made the assertion in his Friday sermon.
According to him,Angel Jibril visits Prophet Muhammad pbuh and reads Quran during Ramadan pervently and encourages so amongst believers.
Imam Malami narrates how companions of the Prophet are devoted to Quranic recitation in this holy month.
He mentioned Imamul Qatada, who reads the entire Quran in seven days before Ramadan and three days in Ramadan.
While the likes of Imamul Zuhud abstain from any other religious activities and focus on reading the Quran.
The chief Imam also urges Muslim, especially those in the holy cities of Makkah and Madina, to read the Quran as much as they can as it’s the tradition of the prophet and his companions.
He equally calls on Muslims to tighten their belt ahead of the last ten days of Ramadan.
Imam Malami said,Abdullahi bn Abubakar is reported saying his father Saidina Abubakar will be praying until about Fijr before he takes Sahoor,noting the significance of devotion to prayers in the holy month.
The holy month of Ramadan Allah forgive servants who reads Quran and maintain good deeds.
