The Islamic Hijri Calendar has been described as a reminder to the Muslim Ummah on the major sacrifices made at the beginning of Islamic religion.
The Chief Imam of Modibbo Adama University Jumma’ah Mosque, Dr. Malami Garba, made the statement in his sermon this Friday.
Dr. Malami Garba said the Islamic calendar prepares Muslims to emulate Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his companions.
The Islamic Scholar also enjoined Muslims to ensure daily use of the Calendar.
He, therefore, prayed for a successful year 1445 after Hijrah.
The Islamic New Year, which begun Wednesday this week, marks the end of the month of Zhul-Hajj in which Eid-Eil-Kabir and Pilgrimage were performed
