Governor Ahamdu Umaru Fintiri has showcased his approval of the superior quality and facilities at the top-tier maternal and childcare centre.
This facility, located in the specialist hospital in Yola, was initiated during the tenure of former Governor Murtala Nyako.
Following a tour to evaluate the centre, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri expressed his admiration for the realization of this top-notch maternal and childcare centre under the current administration.
He emphasized that the government, aiming to lower rates of maternal and child mortality, recognized the importance of continuing the project started by former Governor Nyako.
To achieve the best outcomes, the governor mentioned that the hiring of skilled personnel to uphold the centre’s standards is a priority.
Dr. Dauda Wadinga, the Managing Director of the Specialist Hospital Yola, noted that the center is just one aspect of the hospital’s excellence, which also includes a high-standard laboratory, MRI, Citi scan, and other advanced equipment, ensuring no service is overlooked.
Regarding maintenance, Dr. Wadinga revealed plans for a partnership with the German team to periodically service the equipment, ensuring its longevity.
He also expressed gratitude towards Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his relentless support for the people of Adamawa in healthcare. Government House Correspondent Zakariyya Aliyu Gwaram indicates that the inauguration of a dialysis centre at the hospital will be in no distant future.
