In a recent statement, the Adamawa State Government has pledged ongoing support for all security agencies operating within the region.

During the graduation ceremony of the 2023 batch of 73 recruits from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), held at the Federal Secretariat complex parade ground in Yola, the state capital, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri emphasized the state’s commitment. The Governor, represented by Chief of Staff Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday, lauded the NSCDC for its consistent dedication, integrity, and professionalism, which have become hallmarks of the corps’ operations across Nigeria, particularly in Adamawa State.

Governor Fintiri extended his congratulations to the new officers, highlighting the crucial timing of their entry into the force amidst the socio-economic challenges that have heightened crime rates. He urged the recruits to demonstrate professionalism, courage, and integrity, aligning with the NSCDC’s ethos and to steadfastly avoid corruption.

The Governor remarked on the NSCDC’s significant role in maintaining peace and security in the state. He expressed hope that the addition of 73 officers would enhance the corps’ capabilities in crime prevention, peacebuilding, and implementing innovative security strategies.

Addressing economic pressures, including the scarcity and rising costs of food items, Governor Fintiri outlined his administration’s commitment to rolling out palliatives and other measures to mitigate inflation’s impact and bolster residents’ resilience. He underscored the importance of security in supporting agricultural initiatives for food production enhancement.

Adamawa State NSCDC Commandant, Ibrahim Mainasara, praised the graduates’ performance and outlined plans for their deployment across the state’s local government areas, considering its border location. He announced intentions to bolster the corps’ manpower for improved efficiency and effectiveness in their duties.

The ceremony, attended by heads of security agencies, stakeholders, and the graduates’ families, was marked by a parade and exchanges of greetings among attendees, celebrating the occasion.
