Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has inaugurated a state-of-the-art Trauma Center at Mubi General Hospital. The facility, built by the Multi-sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) in partnership with the Adamawa State Government, is equipped with advanced medical technology, including a Static X-ray, Anaesthesia equipment, Diathermy machines, and a C-arm. Other features include a Haematology Analyzer, Mobile Theatre Operating Lights, ICU beds, an Examination Couch, and a backup power supply.

Governor Fintiri emphasized the significance of the Trauma Center in his speech at the commissioning ceremony, reaffirming his commitment to providing top-tier healthcare services to the state’s residents. He acknowledged the challenges citizens face in accessing medical care, which motivated the establishment of the center. He also assured ongoing government support for the facility.

Dr. Maurice Vunobolki, the state MCRP Project Coordinator, highlighted that the project aims to support recovery and stability in communities affected by the Boko Haram crisis. The center is part of a broader initiative that includes the rehabilitation of 18 primary healthcare centers and five secondary facilities across Mubi, Michika, Garkida, and Maiha LGAs, along with the supply of drugs and consumables to over 20 health facilities statewide.

State Commissioner of Health and Human Services, Felix Tangwami, noted the strategic importance of situating the Trauma Center in Mubi, a region significantly impacted by Boko Haram. He praised the intervention and Governor Fintiri’s dedication to enhancing the state’s healthcare sector.

The District Head of Yadafa, representing the Emir of Mubi, HRH Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, along with other speakers, expressed their gratitude to MCRP and Governor Fintiri for their positive contributions to Mubi’s healthcare services.
