NG-CARES Distributes Farm Inputs in Girei and Yola North LGAs.

The Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus under Fadama Result 2 NG Cares programme has distributed Agricultural inputs support to farmers in Girei and Yola North local government areas of Adamawa State.

One hundred and fifty beneficiaries in both two local Governments who are dry season farmers went home with Rice and Maize seedlings and five litres each of herbicides and pesticides.

The Project Coordinator of NG-CARE in Adamawa State, Dr. Stephen Mshelia in his welcoming remarked said the assistance will be replicated to other local government areas of the State.

Chairman of Girei local government area, Mr Judah Amisah represented by Hamidu Bello and the District Head Dr. Ahmed Mustapha represented by Alhaji Baba Yahaya Diyajo commended and that of Jimeta represented by Ahmad Abubakar the commissioner of Agriculture for working round the clock to assist farmers with inputs.

The representatives also encouraged the beneficiaries not to sell the commodities but instead for good use to create wealth.

The commissioner for Agriculture Professor David Finchiwa Jatau had while delivering speech said the gesture is aimed at increasing food security and safe functioning of the food supply chain.

The commissioner also called on beneficiaries to make best use of the opportunity for better results and more in their irrigation activities.

Beneficiaries include Charity Edward and Musa Aminu as well as Madam Doris Kake lauded the assistance with a promise not to fail Adamawa State Government for coming to their aid.

At the end, the commissioner of Agriculture Professor David Finchiwa Jatau Flagg off distribution of the farm inputs to benefiting farmers in Girei and Yola local government areas to atleast harness quarter hectare for farming.
