It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Alhaji Abubakar Goni Girei, fondly known as Alhaji Goni, at the age of 87.
Alhaji Goni passed away early Wednesday morning at his residence in Dodore, Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State, after a brief illness. He was a close associate of Sarki Gabas Adamawa, Dr. Mahmud Halilu Ahmed (mni).
The late Alhaji Goni is survived by four wives, 17 children, and 11 grandchildren. He was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic injunctions.
In a statement released by Dr. Mahmud Halilu Ahmed (mni), Founder of NAS FM Yola and NAS FM Mubi, through the Board Chairman of NAS FM, heartfelt condolences were extended to the family of the deceased. Dr. Mahmud prayed to Allah (SWT) to grant the departed soul Aljannatul Firdausi and to provide strength and comfort to his family during this difficult time.
