Governor Fintiri Urges PDP Unity Ahead of Adamawa LG Polls

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has called for unity and tolerance within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as the party prepares for the upcoming local government elections on July 13, 2024.

Speaking at the state PDP stakeholders meeting held at the banquet hall of the Government House in Yola, Governor Fintiri, represented by his deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, emphasized the need for party members to foster harmonious relationships to ensure the government continues delivering development to the people.

He encouraged PDP members to exhibit tolerance and actively participate in campaigning to secure victory in the local government polls.

Earlier, the state PDP chairman, Barrister Abubakar Tahir Shehu, highlighted that the party is operating within the electoral timelines set by the state electoral body.

He outlined the campaign schedule, which begins on July 2 with Madagali, Michika, and Mubi North, followed by other local governments in subsequent days.

Barrister Shehu urged party members to set aside grievances and collaborate effectively to serve the citizens, emphasizing the PDP-led government’s commitment to inclusivity and gender sensitivity in Adamawa State.
