Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, has inaugurated the state’s 13-member Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.

In her address, Farauta cautioned the newly appointed officials against corruption and denominationalism in their duties. She emphasized that their selection was based on their individual commitment to duty and demonstrated fear of God.

Farauta highlighted the government’s commitment to both Muslim and Christian Welfare Boards, underscoring the importance of addressing the physical and spiritual needs of the people. She also noted that the government has allocated the necessary funds for this year’s Christian pilgrimage, and preparations for the airlift of pilgrims are nearly complete.

In response, the new chairman of the board, Rev. Theophilus Shadrach, pledged to uphold the board’s values with integrity to enhance the welfare of Christians. Shadrach expressed deep gratitude and honor for the opportunity to serve the state.
