Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) Has engaged farmers on a three days training/workshop on Agroforestry enterprises and farming systems in northern Guinea, Savannah ecological zone yola, Adamawa state.
The three days training which commenced Tuesday and slated to end on Wednesday had in attendance youths, women, farmers and other stakeholders.
In his welcome adress, Director General Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, Zacharia B. Yaduma phD said the program was design to impact necessary agroforestry skills in youths, women, farmers and other stakeholders.
He added that participants would received training on Fish farming, Rabitary farming, Bee keeping, Mushrooms production, and locust bean production which he believe will go along way in promoting economic empowerment and self employment of the participants.
During this Training, Participants are receiving training on seedlings production, Nursery Management, Agricultural establishments and Management Techniques, acquire skill on Fish farming, Rabbitary Farming, Bee-Keeping, Mushroom Production and African Locust bean Production and more. Zacharia B Yaduma. Each of the 120 participants received capital of N57,000.
In an Interview with NAS FM News reporter Aliyu Abubakar Gengle, Some of the participants vows to make judicious use of the knowledge tapped during the training.
