Adamawa State House of Assembly has mandated the Emergency Agencies to provide relief materials to victims of flood in Lamurde, Demsa and Fufore local government areas.
The House gave the mandate during it’s Monday sitting presided over by the speaker Bathiya Wesley.
Member representing Lamurde Constituency, Bauna Myandasa move the motion on the floor of the house on the matter of urgent public importance and seconded by member representing Madagali Constituency.
Myandasa noted the flood destroyed some farmlands in one of the villages in Lamurde local government, hence the need to mandate mandate the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency and National Emergency Management Agency to come to the aid of flood victims.
Contributing, member representing Mubi North Constituency, Paul Samuel concor the matter, noting that the flood incidents followed the prediction by Nigerian Metrological Agency.
Also contributing, Member representing Fufore local government Constituency stressed the need to extend the support to other local government areas that are flood prone areas.
The speaker Bathiya Wesley therefore put the matter to voice vote that unanimously accepted by the House.
