The Adamawa State government held a large security council meeting to discuss ways to maintain peace in the state.
The meeting included leaders from the executive, legislature, traditional rulers, military commanders, local council chairmen, and other important stakeholders. 
After the meeting, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Awwal Tukur, spoke to the press on behalf of the Governor.
He mentioned that although Adamawa has remained peaceful, there was a need to review actions related to recent protests in the state.
The protests, which were peaceful, were largely due to hunger and issues caused by federal government policies, and the state government’s proactive measures helped keep the situation calm.
The security council also addressed other concerns, such as conflicts between farmers and herders, and illegal mining, and they proposed solutions specifically for affected local governments.
When asked about reports of 20 trucks of rice supposedly supplied by the federal government, the SSG clarified that the state has not received any palliative supplies and has not been informed of any such plans.
However, the government is working on how to procure and distribute food aid to its citizens, being cautious about the timing.
