By Dominic Yohanna

Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria Adamawa State Chapter, has joined its national body in an indefinite strike for non-implementation of Financial Autonomy to the State Houses of Assembly as stipulated in the constitution.

The Association had in the working hours of Monday shutdown entrance of the State Assembly Complex in Yola alongside members of the association led by its chairman Idris Sali, said the inability of the government to fulfill the long awaited demand of the association was what warranted the situation they found themselves.

He noted that negotiations are ongoing between the association and the government at the national level expressing hope that the outcome would be good as the National Speakers Forum and the Governors Forum start responding to issues and demands.

He lamented that most states in the country are facing similar challenges of non implementation of financial autonomy for the Staff of States Houses of assembly saying that Adamawa State was not an exception.

While waiting for the outcome of the ongoing negotiations of both parties at the National level, Idris Sali urged members of the association to withdraw from their services and remain calm until their demands are met.
