Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the government is ready to collaborate with the National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA for the provision of free Internet in the state, also determine to provide job opportunities for youths in the partnership with the federal agency for sustainable development of Adamawa.
The governor made the pronouncement when he met with delegations of NITDA during a courtesy visit at the government house, Yola.
The delegation leader, Mr. Olawunmi Oladejo, in his remark, expressed a desire to engage relevant stakeholders within the tech ecosystem to foster effective implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA).
He also said the visit was to intimate the governor about the agency’s stakeholders’ engagement in Adamawa state.
Government house Correspondent Zakariyya Aliyu Gwaram reports that the stakeholders engagement meeting will be held today, Thursday, at City Green Hotel in Yola where ICT experts will discuss the nation’s Startup ecosystem towards the sustainability of a digital transformed nation.
NITDA aimed to use the meeting to also create a practical framework to promote innovation, entrepreneurship and showcase the efforts put in play by the Agency to ensure the country remains steadfast in digital economy, moreover, at the end of the engagement a technical working group made up of stakeholders involved in ICT and NITDA officials will be ser in order to fast track digital economic transformation across Adamawa.
Mr. Oluwunmi Oladejo commended Governor Umaru Fintiri for his effort so far in supporting the drive for digital transformation in Adamawa, making the state a front runner in that regard,and assured continued partnership of NITDA in the sector.
