Governor Fintiri Commends State Accountants for Transparency and Accountability

Governor Ahamdu Umaru Fintiri has praised professional accountants in the state for their commitment to transparency and accountability, attributes he considers fundamental to his administration’s success. The Governor made these remarks during a courtesy visit from the Yola branch of the Association of Nigerian Accountants (ANAN) at the Government House.

Governor AUF noted that the diligence of professional accountants has significantly improved the state’s governance, reducing the frequency of visits from anti-crime agencies. He highlighted that the presence of dedicated and serious members within the association has bolstered accountability and efficiency in the state’s administration.

The Governor also expressed his honor in hosting the Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (MCPD) event twice during his five-year tenure, viewing it as a testament to excellence. He pledged ongoing support for future events.

Earlier, Titus Obadiah, the State Chairman of ANAN, congratulated the Governor on his recent Supreme Court victory, describing it as a reaffirmation of the electorate’s trust. Obadiah commended the Governor’s steadfastness amidst challenges and acknowledged his efforts in transforming the state into a safe haven.

Obadiah affirmed the association’s commitment to contributing to the state’s sustainable development and social harmony. He also thanked the Governor for his continuous support, including the appointment of ANAN members to key positions.

Obadiah informed the Governor about the upcoming 2024 MCPD event scheduled to be held in the state from July 1-3, seeking his usual support, which has proven beneficial in the past.
