Helen Keller International (HKI), a humanitarian organization, has honored Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State for fostering an environment conducive to successful and impactful program implementation. HKI, which operates in 12 states across Nigeria, has partnered with the Adamawa state government to enhance the lives of the most vulnerable, particularly in combating blindness and malnutrition.
The Executive Secretary of the Adamawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Suleiman Saidu Bashir, accepted the award on behalf of the governor during an event in Abuja celebrating Helen Keller International Nigeria’s 25 years of impactful work.
Aliyu Mohammed, the Country Director of Helen Keller International in Nigeria, praised Governor Fintiri’s leadership and support, highlighting his prioritization of the health sector as a key agenda of his administration. Mohammed noted that over 73 million Nigerians have benefited from the organization’s humanitarian efforts, which include providing essential commodities to fight malnutrition and eliminate neglected tropical diseases.
