Governor Fintiri Celebrates Democracy Day with Citizens

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the people of Adamawa State and all Nigerians on the occasion of Democracy Day, celebrated on June 12th.

This is contained in a Press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonosikou.

In his message, Governor Fintiri lauded the resilience and determination of Nigerians in upholding democratic values and principles over the past two decades. He acknowledged the progress made in this period and pledged his administration’s continued commitment to deepening democracy and enhancing the lives of citizens.

“I commend the resilience and determination of Nigerians in upholding democratic values and principles. May I also acknowledge the progress made in the past two decades and pledge my administration’s commitment to deepening democracy and improving the lives of citizens,” said Fintiri.

 

He called on all Adamawa residents to embrace peace, unity, and harmony as the state celebrates this significant milestone. However, the governor also recognized the ongoing hardships and challenges faced by many Nigerians, noting that democracy has not yet provided the comfort, security, and prosperity that all citizens desire.

“As we mark this year’s Democracy Day, I acknowledge the hardships and challenges that many Nigerians still face, and I regret that our democracy has not yet yielded the desired dividends of comfort, security, and prosperity for all citizens,” Fintiri said.

Governor Fintiri urged residents to maintain the peace that has been established over the past five years under his administration, warning that any disruptions would be met with the full force of the law. He also prayed for continued peace and prosperity in Adamawa State and across Nigeria as the nation continues its democratic journey.

“As we celebrate our democracy, I reaffirm our administration’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure for sustainable development and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens. We will continue to prioritize projects that improve the lives of our people and guarantee the protection of life and property, creating a prosperous and peaceful Adamawa State for all,” the governor’s concluded.
