Adamawa State PDP Secretariat continues to witness a high turnout of members as aspirants, alongside their supporters, troop in to purchase forms for the next month’s local government council election in the state.
One of the party members, who visited the Secretariat on Monday for the purchase of the form was Mr Mark Ishaya, who is vying for the position of Chairman, Gombi Local Government Area.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after picking up the form, Mr. Ishaya said that if elected he would ensure the restoration of peace and unity among the people of the local government, for the progress of the area.
While commending Governor Fintiri for executing viable projects across the 21 local government areas of the state, Mr Mark Ishaya, pledged to join hands with the commissioner of Agriculture, who is an indigene of the area, to develop the local government’s agricultural sector.
One of the stakeholders that accompanied the aspirant to the PDP Secretariat, Dr Mary Paninga, said Gombi can’t afford to be left behind in terms of development again, hence the need for the people of the area to support Mr Mark.
Dr Mary Paninga, who is the Chairman of Adamawa State Planning Commission, says Gombi is far behind due to disunity, but with their favourite, Mr. Mark Ishaya at the helm of affairs, the area will be united and developed again.
On his part, the Chairman of Gombi Elders Forum, Mr Claftin Difirwiti, said he is confident that their candidate will not disappoint, saying under Mr Mark, the area, which has been in disarray, will become one, and people will people would enjoy more dividends of democracy.
The PDP is expected to screen its aspirants on the 15th and 16th of June, while the local government council election will be held on 13th July, 2024.
