Federal Roads Safety Corps in Adamawa flags-off this years’ Ember Months campaign with a promise to prosecute traffic offenders across the major highways.
The corps had during the event engage stakeholders of communities and transport sectors on the need to make a difference changing the narrative of road crashes this year.
The Flagg-off took at the Jambutu Motor part witness by drivers and community leaders with the theme avoid speeding, overloading and unsafe tyres to arrive alive.
The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps in Adamawa, Corp commander Yelwa Dauda Dio explain that the aim of the campaign was reduce the effect of road traffic crashes and injuries for public safety.
Corps commander Dauda Dio appeal to road users to avoid all forms of traffic infraction along the highways.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented at the flagg-off by the commissioner Ministry of Transport Mustapha Jika mentioned Yola Numan and Girei Song Roads as the flash points for accident cases.
The Governor Also assured the Federal Road Safety Corps of partnership with stakeholders.
Lamido Adamawa Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, represented by the acting District head of Jimeta Alhaji Baba Jauro and National Vice Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers commended the Federal Road Safety Commission for tireless effort to routine operation.
They urged the drivers to take the messages to translate the messages of the Flagg-off on their daily activities on the highway.
Other stakeholders expressed concern on the high increase of road crashes with a call for all hands to be on deck to reduce the situation to its barest minimum level in the State and the Country at large.
