Emergency and Preparedness Response Team in Adamawa restratagized towards Peaceful society.

The Emergency Preparedness and Response Team in Adamawa State has restratagized towards building peace in the society.

The commitment was made at the annual capacity building workshop Organized by the team to improve the efforts of its members towards peace and progress in the State.

Members of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team, which includes faith-based organizations and the National Orientation Agency brainstormed on possible ways to avert crisis in the society.

It was the Catholic-based organization established to join the two faiths on building peace in collaboration with the Justice Development and Peace Commission and the Mennonite Central Committee in Adamawa State.

In his address, the Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Stephen Dami Mamza represented by Reverend Father Maurice Kwairanga encouraged the team to redouble efforts in reporting security and Anti-social activities for onward communication to the government.

Speaking, one of the members of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team, Mr. Charles Christopher said the team had achieved much in interface mediation and establishing peace clubs in secondary schools across the local government areas of Adamawa State.

Malam Suleiman Aliyu Yuguda and Godiya Manga from Hong and Maiha local government areas respectively said there is an improvement in fighting the scourge of gender-based violence, and the enrollment of females in schools.

Highlights of the meeting include experience sharing from local government leaders on building Peace from across the twenty-one local government areas of Adamawa State.

There were also the representatives of Jama’atu Nasril Islam and other advocacy groups at the meeting.
