Adamawa Set for Local Councils’ Election as Sensitive Materials Are Dispatched

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission has Flagg-off the distribution of sensitive materials for the conduct local councils’ election in the State.

Executive chairman, Muhammed Umar at the exercise assured of credible and acceptable election in Adamawa comes Saturday.

Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission had slated Saturday, the thirteenth of July for the councils’ election.

According to the executive chairman of the commission Alhaji Muhammed Umar one million nine-hundred and sixty persons to vote during the exercise.

While flagging-off the distribution of the sensitive materials at the Police Headquarters in Yola, the executive chairman assured of credible and acceptable election for grassroots leaders across the 226 councillorship wards and 21 local council chairmen in Adamawa State.

He tasked the electoral officers to keep the sensitive materials at the custody of divisional police offices in their various locations for onward distributions at the ward level on Friday.

Representative of the Political Parties, comrade Shehu Yohanna, had while expressing satisfaction with the level of preparedness by the electoral body for Saturday, calls on supporters to go for polls peacefully.

The sensitive items were distributed under the presence of the security operatives.
