“Be successful like others before you”,Gov Fintiri tells corp members.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri attended the swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch C stream One corp members deployed to Adamawa state at the National Youth Service Corps NYSC Orientation Camp Damare.

Represented by the Chief of Staff government house, Dr. Edgar Amos, the governor asked the corp members to eschew laziness and embrace the opportunity before them.

Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described corp members as strategic partners in the execution people oriented policies and programmes, particularly as regards to education, healthcare, agriculture and rural development in Adamawa state.

Fintiri welcome the corp members where he conferred the privilege status of automatic indigenes to them, assuring safety and adequate provision of necessary support through out their service year.

Governor Fintiri reminds the corp members that success or otherwise  of their service year,starts from the camp. He therefore encouraged them to participate in all the camp programmes and activities, particularly lectures and Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme SAED.

The governor appreciated the Chief Judge of Adamawa State,Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, represented by Justice Helen Nuhu for conducting the crucial task of administering the Oath of Allegiance on the corps members. He equally commended the  camp officials for their care in handling and mentoring of the corps members.

In his address, the state coordinator NYSC,Mr. Jingi Denis appreciated Governor Fintiri’s untiring support for the scheme and categorically stated that the  recent ranking of Adamawa State performance by the National Examination Council (NECO) as 1st in the North and 2nd nationwide includes  invaluable contributions of Corps Members,where 90%  amongst 80% of corp members sent to schools serve as classroom teachers.

However, due to economic realities Mr. Jingi plead with the government for upward review of allowance given to corp members serving in the post primary schools.

About 1,150 corps members were sworn-in by the Chief Judge. The Chairman NYSC Governing Board and Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Youth and Sports Adamawa State, Barr. WaliYakubu, Commissioners and other top government functionaries as well as the State Service Commanders also attended the occasion
