Adamawa State Government Marks World Teachers Day with commitments to Teacher’s Welfare and Educational sector

Adamawa state government is committed to recruitment of qualified teachers, promotion,and educators’ goals that every child has the opportunity to learn on sight regardless of their background or circumstances.

This formed part of Rt Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s speech during commemoration of World Teachers Day at the Ahmadu Ribadu Square, Yola.

The Adamawa State governor Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said education is the cornerstone of any serving society, and it’s the dedicated efforts of the teachers that pave the way for children success.

While reflecting on the vital role teachers play in building a brighter future for Adamawa State and Nigeria,Governor Fintiri described them as invaluable asset.

Governor Fintiri urges people to remember that teachers are the foundation of the society progress and its a collective responsibility to honour and support them.

He further assured the teachers that the government commitment supports the education sector and teachers’ welfare.

The Adamawa state commissioner of education… affirmed the governor’s message saying,without teachers, the majority of people won’t be where they are today.

In his remark, State Chairman Nigerian Union of Teachers NUT Adamawa state Wing Comr. Atiku Buba appreciated God for making it possible to witness the occasion of this year’s International Teachers Day.

Comr. Buba said the friendly policies and monumental achievements recorded by the present administration have impacted positively and aligned with the desired progress of the education sector. He mentioned this success to include the following.

Comr. Buba however, plead with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to look into the plight of teachers in the following area; implementation of promotion to teachers in primary schools,implementation of five years elongation of services to cover all categories of teachers in the state,payment of professional allowance of 27.5% to teachers that have acquired requisite qualifications to boost their morale,payment of yearly increment to teachers in both primary and post primary schools.

The world teachers day also known as known as the International Teacher’s day connotes a day dedicated to teachers,a day set aside for teachers for their outstanding contributions to the development of our society.
