Adamawa Government Partners UNICEF To Improves The Lives Of Victims Of Armed Conflicts In North-East

The Adamawa State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social development in partnership with UNICEF are working to improve the living condition of victims of armed conflicts in the Northeast States affected by Boko Haram attacks.

To achieve this, the partnership engaged community leaders, local government chairmen and religious leaders across six local government areas in Adamawa State.

The commissioner of Women Affairs and Social development,Adamawa state, Mrs Wunfe Anthony in her opening remarked intimated the participants that Adamawa was among the Northeast States affected by the Boko Haram crisis, a situation that displaced persons from their ancestral homes.

Mrs Wunfe Anthony stressed to the stakeholders at the engagement of the importance to reduce effects of the crisis on children, noting that her Ministry in collaboration with UNICEF provided various support to the affected children of the Boko Haram crisis.

On her part, the UNICEF Communication and advocacy specialist, Munirat Mustapha said to help the children who are part of victims of the crisis remain the responsibility of all for reintegration.

Earlier, the Director Child Development in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social development, Malam Muhammed Hassan explain that the aim of the meeting was to reflect on reintegration and reconciliation mechanism for children and people affected by conflict.

Participants at the end of the meeting deliberated on the way forward towards reintegrating children that are mostly affected by the conflicts situation in the society.
