In a significant move to accelerate the growth of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure within Adamawa State, the
state government has officially approved a Right of Way (RoW) fee of N100 per
linear meter.
This decision aligns with the recommendations of the National
Economic Council’s resolution on multiple taxation, levies, and charges on ICT Infrastructure in Nigeria (2013) and is enshrined in Adamawa State Law No. 12 of 2020 – Adamawa State Revenue Administration Law, page Al44.
The approved RoW fee is a proactive measure to create a conducive environment for the deployment of broadband services, enhance digital connectivity, and stimulate economic development within the state.
This was contained in a statement released and signed by the Secretary to State Government (SSG) Barrister Auwal D. Tukur.
According to the statement, the standardized rate is carefully crafted to strike a balance between revenue generation for the state and the facilitation of robust ICT inf rastructure expansion.
The State Government believes that this decisive step will not only attract investments in ICT infrastructure but also contribute to the overall progress of the state, creating employment opportunities and improving access to digital services.
