The Adamawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports, led by Commissioner Barr. Wali Yakubu joins the global community in celebrating the 2024 International Youth Day under the theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.”
This year’s theme highlights the pivotal role of youth in utilizing digital technologies to advance sustainable development and tackle global challenges.
To mark this occasion, the Ministry has organized a series of activities, including:- Digital skills training for youth,A panel discussion on youth digital entrepreneurship,A talk show showcasing youth-led organizations and their contributions to youth development in the state,and Exhibitions by NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, various Youth Development Associations, and Civil Society Organizations
In line with the spirit of Public-Private Partnership, the Ministry is collaborating with youth-led organizations across the state. This initiative aims to familiarize these groups with the Ministry’s activities while acknowledging their contributions to youth development.
Responding to questions, Barr Wali assures the public of less worries over the quality of the state stadium under construction.
In response to calls for patronage of non-political actors Unity tournaments, the commissioner was optimistic that Governor Fintiri would honour future invitations, especially as the government involvement boost moral support and open doors to investment and sponsorship.
The 2024 theme underscores the government’s commitment to recognizing youth as agents of change and innovators, leveraging digital technologies for sustainable development.
By focusing on “From Clicks to Progress,” the theme encourages youth to move beyond digital engagement and use technology for lasting, meaningful impact.
