Adamawa state House of Assembly has assured all the Ministries Departments and Agencies in the state of adequate support to discharge their duties in accordance with the proposed budget for 2024.
This assertion was given by chairman Adamawa State House of Assembly Standing Comittee on Legislative Compliance and Special Duties Sunday Peter, while playing host to some MDAs who appeared before his comittee to defend their budget on Friday
Sunday Peter who is also the Member representing Guyuk Constituency, maintained that the aim of the budget defense was for the committees of the House to scrutinize and make amendments were necessary to ensure that people of Adamawa state have good representation.
Speaking to the House correspondents shortly after defending the budget of his ministry, Mr Joab Haggai Sama of Land and Survey said the entire budget of his ministry was approved hoping to make good progress in 2024 fiscal year.
He maintained that the expectations of the ministry in the proceeding year, was to be among other things build the proposed over one thousand houses as required by governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri as well as urban renewal and development initiative.
Speaking also, after the defense of his proposed Agency, the Special Advisor to governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on ICT, E-governance and policy Dr. Hamma Jam Ahmad Adamu, said his proposed Agency the Adamawa State Technology Development Agency was born out of aspirations of governor Fintiri towards building technology driven Adamawa state, with the view to fostering economic growth and digital technology agenda.
Among the ministries that defended their 2024 proposed budget, was the Ministry of Works and Energy, recieving the largest share of the budget of about 25 billion representing 22.5 percent of the overall budget.
