On June 10, 2024, a phone snatching incident led to the arrest of two young men in Mubi North Local Government Area. Paulina Ayuba, a corps member, reported to the police that between 6 to 7 pm, she was walking beside the road when four boys in a tricycle approached her and forcefully took her phone before fleeing the scene.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Nguroje disclosed this in a press release signed by him.
According to the statement,the suspects, identified as 18-year-olds Aminu Aliyu, known as Digashi, and Salisu Muhammed, both from Kasuwan Borkono, Mubi, were apprehended shortly after the incident. The police recovered the stolen phone and the tricycle used in the crime.
Efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest the two other suspects who managed to escape. The apprehended suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.
