The Adamawa State Government has committed to unalloyed support for the Nigeria Armed Forces, expressing gratitude during a special Sunday service for their vital role in safeguarding the state and the nation.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by Chief of Staff Dr. Edga Emos at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, acknowledged the Armed Forces’ contributions to national unity. He prayed for fallen heroes and emphasized the importance of leaving a positive legacy.
Flight Lieutenant Reverend Peter Emeali, in his sermon, highlighted the continuous service of the Nigeria Armed Forces, encouraging consistent prayers for fallen heroes, the nation, and a better future.
He urged people to lead exemplary lives and care for the families left behind.
The Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Legion in Adamawa State, Retired Warrant Officer Zinas Tada, expressed gratitude for the government’s support in preparing for the Armed Forces remembrance day.
The brigade commander, 23 army brigade Yola,Brigadier General Paul Kefas Zawaya, in closing remarks, acknowledged the dual nature of the celebration—joyful yet reflective. He thanked the state government and all contributors for marking the occasion, emphasizing the importance of recognizing both the Armed Forces and civilians who defend the country’s sovereignty.
Government House correspondent Zakariyya Aliyu Gwaram reports that chief of staff, Doctor Edgar Emos, as well as some commissioners and other government officials attended the special Sunday service.
There were songs of praises and worship by the choir group and the women fellowship of the church.
