In it’s continues effort to honour and immortalise contributions of the fallen heroes, The Adamawa State Government organized a Novelty Football match between Governor’s team and Armed forces team.
The match which ended 1-0 in favour of the Governor’s team was in tenderm with series of activities carried out by the Adamawa State government to mark the Armed Forces Remembrance.
The Chief of Staff Adamawa state, Dr. Edgar Amos who spoke on behalf of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri had while appreciating those that honoured the event, emphasized the significance of peace and tolerance.
Governor Fintiri’s message also assured families of the fallen heroes government commitment to their concerns and promised government will do all it takes within it’s power to cater for them.
He equally reiterates Adamawa government commitment to productive,collaborative engagements with the armed force,assuring support in all ramifications.
Dr. Amos describes football as perfect example of team work relevance as well goals to achieve in life.
In his remark, the head of service Adamawa state, Shehu Isa Ardo notes that the sacrifices of the fallen heroes are priceless hence the essence of such occasion.
Shehu Ardo also urge the public especially civil servants to honour such gathering in order to appreciate the Armed forces and foster unity cohesion in public service.
Speaking at the event,the commissioner of youths and Sport, Wali Yakubu said the novelty match was a show of respect to the falling heroes and their families.
Wali Yakubu further called for support to the military from the public.
At half time of the match,Thug of War was carried out between legionaries and women military officers.
The occasion was honoured by Brigade Commander Armour 23 Nigerian Airforce Yola,P K Zawaya,representative of Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC,Ass Comm. Denis Tukur and other dignitaries.
The Governor’s team includes,Hon Baba Doke,Hon. Wali Yakubu,Hon Sadiq Mayo,Hon. Shafi’u Abba,Hon. Abduljalal Sanusi amongst others.
The novelty match was officiated by Abdulmumini Bello as Center Refree,Aminu Kabiru,Dahiru Yaya and Ibrahim Adamu assisted.
