Mubi Residents Decried Cost Of Food Items

 

Residents of Mubi, have lamented over the hike in the prices of food items in the market.

The residents made the lamentation while speaking to NAS FM NEWS reporter Joel Bulus Kwaja.

The National bureau of statistics NBS, in its 2023 report, reveals that the prices of food commodities have continued to rise from December 2023 to 2024.

To this end, buyers and sellers of food commodities have expressed displeasure over the hike in the prices of foodstuffs in the market.

A business man in Mubi main market, Malam Umar, explains that the hike in price of food items in the market has become a major challenge to the customers where they can’t afford to buy the commodities in the market.

Hauwa Gambo a customer in the market noted that people are suffering due to the hike in price of commodities in the market.

She further describes the devaluation naira as another reason that made the prices of food items such as maize, rice, oil and some other items to keep on skyrocketing in the state.

As the citizens are suffering from the hike in prices of food items in the market, they call on the government to come to their aid in order to cushion the hardship being faced by masses across the country.
