Governor Fintiri signed Harmonize Water Policy to ensure access to Clean water in Adamawa

Adamawa state has joined few other states of the federation in signing Harmonize Water resources and Water Policy which will enable communities in the state to own access to Water supply.

The development took place at the Governor’s office, Yola.

Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who signed the policy said the policy will guarantee access to adequate water which is critical for living and economic growth.

The Governor also revealed that provision of clean water to the people of Adamawa state remains agenda in his administration from onset.

Fintiri further assured partners government adherence to the content of the policy.

In his address,Adamawa state Commissioner of Water resources, Audu Ayuba Tanko disclosed that the state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri gave matching order to the ministry to ensure that water become accessible to Adamawa people and to aspire reaching 100% water accessibility by 2030 in the state from 30% at the present.

Audu Ayuba explained that the benefits aspect of the policy to include wider provision of amenity to people in rural areas,opportunity for development Partners to come to invest in Adamawa among others.

According to the Commissioner, contractors are already mobilize to 8 local government with 6 months period to complete the project that will provide access to clean water.

Audu Ayuba Tanko appreciate governor Fintiri’s dedication to people oriented policies, urge the public to refrain from vandalising government equipments,also commended the USAID and other partners for working to provide good gateway for water facilties in Adamawa state.
