On Friday, Adamawa State’s Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri declared the appointment of thirteen new permanent secretaries in the state’s civil service, following their successful performance in a qualifying examination held by the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON). Sixty-four state candidates participated in the exam.
The appointed individuals are Mundi Musa Ibrahim from Guyuk, Adama Mamman and Dogara Musa from Hong, Fabian Wambai from Jada, Oliver Gani from Lamurde, Abubakar Umar from Maiha, Zira Bubanani Mathias, Kwaji Duguri, and Ruth Huram from Michika, Makallan Akila from Song, Tanimu Buba from Yola North, and Heidi Edgar Amos and Muhammad Amin Suleiman from Yola South.
Governor Fintiri highlighted the exam’s role in promoting merit and reducing nepotism in appointments. He also directed the State Head of Service to hold another exam in February due to the high demand for positions.
