Governor Ahmadu Umar Fintiri has promised to work with the federal water ministry to possibly dredge the Kiri Dams, benefiting the state’s residents.
Speaking to the Lunguda Development Association at the government house, the governor highlighted that Adamawa has moved from underdevelopment to prosperity, with peace and security assured.
The governor said that the people of Guyuk deserve more development projects and urged his appointees to work inclusively and support each other.
He pledged to continue collaborating with the people of Guyuk and others who support his administration, emphasizing that Adamawa is progressing and even its critics recognize it.
He encouraged them to vote for all PDP candidates in the upcoming local council elections, assuring that the local government will prioritize public interests. He noted that for the first time in five years, Guyuk has had no crisis at the start of the rainy season, thanks to peacebuilding efforts and the cooperation of the people.
Earlier, the delegation’s leader, Ibrahim Welye, congratulated the governor on his re-election and his award as the best governor in infrastructure in Nigeria.
He also requested the government to upgrade Guyuk Cottage Hospital to a general hospital, facilitate the dredging of Kiri Dam, and convert some schools to boarding status to enhance educational reforms.
In the end,he praised the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, which benefited both citizens and tourists and reached local government areas.
