Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved land for a new housing project for Nigerians living abroad, funded by the federal government.
Governor Fintiri made the approval during a meeting with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) in Yola on Monday.
He said the project will help his administration provide more affordable housing in the state. Fintiri also mentioned his administration’s completion of 1,000 housing units in Malkohi and efforts to ease the impact of subsidy removal on the people.
The Governor promised that the necessary land will be available within seven days, showing his commitment to the project.
The FHA’s Managing Director, Oyetunde Ojo, said the project will allow Nigerians abroad to own quality homes in the country, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda. The housing units will include facilities like a police station, hospital, and supermarket, with 60% of the contractors coming from Adamawa.
Ojo thanked Governor Fintiri for his support and praised his efforts in improving roads, empowerment programs, healthcare, and ensuring timely payment of salaries and pensions.
