Adamawa State Governor Presents 2024 Budget before the State Assembly.

Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed into second reading the proposed budget estimates of 225 billion Naira presented by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at its floor.

The Governor had during the presentation of the 2024 Fiscal year budget tagged budget of Re-engineering said it has crafted for critical need of the People.

The budget which is higher than N214.2bn of 2023 is articulated on the current economic indicators of Oil Production Bench Mark of 1.78 million Barrels Per Day, oil Price Bench.

Speaking during the presentation on the floor of the House, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the proposed budget is in line with the 2024- 2026 Medium-term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the Ministry of Works and Energy Development gets N25.5bn, Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development has N15.6bn.

According to him, the Ministry of Health and Human Services N6,3bn, Ministry of Finance N6,066bn, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development N4.9bn, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development; N4,6bn.

Governor Fintiri said the state will continue with the International Public Sector Accounting Standards programme which is in full implementation in the state.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri also thanked our security Agents and religious leaders in the state for the maintenance of peace and preaching peaceful coexistence.

Responding, the Speaker of the State Assembly, Mr Bathiya Wesley pledged that the House will ensure timely passage of the budget for implementation.

The Proposed budget also scaled second reading on the floor of the house as moved by Majority leader Mamuno Kate Raymond and seconded by the Minority Leader Suleiman Umar Alkali.

The House therefore approved thirty billion Naira loan requests sent by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for consideration and approval to fund the State capital projects.

The Assembly also received a letter seeking for a law to enact Adamawa State Education law 2023, repeal of education law of Northern Nigeria.
