Adamawa State Government organized 3-days retreat to consolidate on Good Governance

Adamawa state government, in collaboration with USAID Nigeria state-state activity and GIZ, organized a grand retreat for commissioners and permanent secretaries in the state.

The retreat, according to the state governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, is aimed to prepare the government officials for the task of consolidating his administration achievements through the framework of the recalibrated 8-points agenda.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, in his keynote address, said the top government functionaries  emerged through collect decisions, but their total loyalty must be to the people of Adamawa whom they have sworn to serve.

Governor Fintiri, who serves as a coverner and participant at the retreat, states that as a government, they can not afford failure and must be prudent in handling the meagre resources. Hence,they must ensure that every penny reaches the government vault.

According to the state governor, the administration in the previous tenure has delivered successfully on the 11-point agenda through the globally recognized prerequisites of governance that include accountability, transparency, participation, and Predictability

In their separate remarks,the state secretary of the government Barr. Auwal D Tukur,the chief of staff Adamawa state government, Dr. Edgar Amos both expressed attentive desire for the retreat and appreciate hands that contribute to the building of the state civil servants.

Resource person to speak at the retreat includes the Vice Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University Prof. Abdullahi Liman Tukur,  Dr. Sadiq Umar Abubakar,Mr. Policap C Ayuba,Mal. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi,Dr. Ishaya John Dabari, among others.

The theme of the Retreat, which is “Consolidating on Good Governance: Issues and Perspectives for Adamawa State” is expected to equip participants with multidimensional bureaucracy knowledge and creative skills to develop Adamawa state.
