Hon. Michael Zira has been appointed the new Director General of the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA) in Adamawa, with a commitment to implementing positive changes for the people’s benefit.
During a ceremony at the agency’s office in Yola on Thursday, Hon. Michael Zira expressed his enthusiasm for wealth creation and pledged to use his new position to reduce the poverty rate in Adamawa.
He acknowledged the high societal expectations but believes that, with the support of the agency’s staff, his mission to improve lives will be achieved.
The DG urged the agency’s staff to be dedicated to their primary duties, emphasizing that while he is not there to target anyone unfairly, he will not tolerate complacency.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for his appointment as DG PAWECA and vowed to leverage his extensive experience for the benefit of not just youths and women, but the entire state.
In her remarks before handing over, the outgoing Head of PAWECA, Hajiya Aishatu Bawa Bello, thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for the opportunity to serve the people of Adamawa State.
She noted that since taking office, Governor Fintiri has consistently supported initiatives for the welfare of youths and women, enabling the agency to positively impact many lives in Adamawa.
The event was attended by the Commissioners of Water Resources and Youth Development, Ayuba Audu and Barrister Yakubu Wali, principal staff of the agency, and other government officials.
