The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, reassured commitment of his administration to promote girl-child and add value to women in society.
Governor Fintiri gave the assurance when he played host to the alumni association of Federal Government Girls College Yola. FGGC at the government house, Yola.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said his administration desired to project women’s potentials with a view to solidify their position in governance.
He assured the Ex-students of FGGC that renovation will soon be carried out in their almamater to sustain the provision of remarkable women in the society.
The Governor advice the women to always see the deputy governor as a reference point to attaining greatness, insisting that commitment and due process will take them to places beyond.
According to the state governor, it’s his will to sponsor and support women in all ramifications, especially politics.
While stating the essence of their visit,the national president of the federal government girls college alumni, Mrs. Chizoba Wonodi said the are at the government house to appreciate the executive governor for finding one of them worthy of occupying the position of deputy governor of Adamawa state,a move that negate notions that women are political baggage but rather a fulcrum to developmental locomotives.
Mrs. Chizoba, who describe Governor Fintiri as Gender-friendly, revealed the alumni intention to organize a homecoming event during which they would award the governor to reciprocate the gesture.
The Federal Government Girls College alumnus include the Adamawa State deputy governor Prof. Kleptawa Farauta, Teresa Tafida,Fatima Bakari,Lydia Erik Garba,Nnamdi Amam John,Ruthy Rain Babula among others.
