Adamawa State Pensioners urge government to attend to their plight.

The State Chairman Nigeria Union of Pensioners in Adamawa, Comrade Mohammed Sali has expressed dismay over non harmonization of Pensions despite the increment of the New National Minimum Wage.

Comrade Sali Stated this while on the sideline of marking this year’s work Pensioners Day.

According to him, the take home for some Pensioners still remains four thousand naira, a situation he noted could not cater for the current challenge.

Comrade Sali also appreciated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the ten thousand naira allowance and prompt payment of pensions, e-payment, approved the five hundred thousand for the payment of local government pensioners, pleaded for addressing the backlog of Gratuity for pensioners in Adamawa State.

Also, the National President of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Comrade Godwin Abumisi represented by Mrs. Polina Kaigama congratulated the Pensioners for marking the day, urging them to pray for the leaders at various helm of affairs.

Various speakers at the event stressed the need for government at all levels to address the plight of pensioners.
The Nigeria Union of Pensioners at the event also supported elderly pensioners to cater for the expenses of their drugs.
