Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri describes National Youth Service Corps members as strategic partners in the execution of people oriented policies and programmes, particularly as regards to education, healthcare, agriculture and rural development.
This is, as the governor,directed from January 2024,additional of 10,000 allowance while 50 bags of rice,10 gallons of oil and 10 Bulls to be release immediately to the corp members to cushion hardship of subsidy removal.
The Governor made the pronouncement at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2023 Batch “C” stream II corps members deployed to Adamawa state at the NYSC Orientation Camp Damare.
The Governor who recognised the courage of the youths that accepted the national calling,equally assured maximum protection and urged them to tap from the abundant opportunities in the state.
The Governor further encouraged the corp members to avail themselves of the opportunities for self-employment offered through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme.
In his welcome remarks, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Jingi Denis said in view of the peaceful atmosphere in the state, the scheme has reviewed posting policies in which more corps members are now being posted to the Local Government Areas outside Yola–Jimeta.
The Commissioner of Youths and Sports who doubles as the State Chairman NYSC Governing Board, Barrister Wali Yakubu encouraged the corps members to stay off the long queue of job seekers by choosing from the various skill sets and participating fully in the training sessions.
Governor Fintiri while declaring the Orientation course of 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream II open also commended the entire camp officials for their care and love in handling and mentoring of the corps members.
