Aggrieved Youths protest alleged shooting of chicken seller at Kasuwan Katako by Police officer

Aggrieved youths in kasuwan katako, Yola North local govt area have protested over alleged killing of one Shafi’u 27, by the officers of Nigerian Police Force.

The protest took place at about 8am Tuesday after Police short dead one frozen chicken seller in kasuwan katako.

There was a pandemonium at  Bypass Yola North local govt, Tuesday morning, over the killing of a youth, named Shafi’u, a chicken seller by police.

NASFM News observed that the youths embarked on the protest at the Bye pass road along Kasuwan katako Tuesday, seeking for justice from the Government and relevant authorities over the killing.

An eye witnessed Umar Usman, who is also the chairman of zamfara Business Owners Association in kasuwan katako narrated how the incident occurred and called on the relevant authorities to intervene as none of them was aware of what led to the killing of the young man.

Some of the protesters who spoke to NAS FM News expressed concerned over the incident and called for justice.

When contacted, The Adamawa state Police command through its public relations officer SP Suleiman said the commissioner of police SK Akande has directed the anti-homicide unit of the command to conduct thorough investigation into the matter.

And that two police officers were arrested and now undergoing interrogation.

While calling on the members of the public to cooperate with the police officers and report any act of police officers in the event of unprofessional conduct, the police image maker said the command will not in anywhere tolerate any body that is bringing his personal interest in to his official duty.

He therefore confirmed that the police remained committed in protecting lives and properties of the citizenry.
