Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a bill for a law to increase the retirement years of the judiciary staff in the state.
Nas FM learnt that the passage of the bill followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the House Committee on Judiciary and Entrepreneurship Development presented by its Chairman, Hon. Pwamwakeno Mackondo(Numan).
The bill seeks to provide for a law to increase the retirement years of the staff with a view to securing the professional position of magistrates, judges, law officers and other legal officers employed in the state.
The committee told the assembly that the bill will guarantee the impartial exercise of judicial function and consequently allow every person to have confidence in more particularly the judiciary and the justice system in general.
After the adoption of the report, the member representing Verre constituency, Hon. Abdullahi Umar Yapak, moved for the suspension of House Standing Order 74 for accelerated passage of the bill and granted as moved.
After 3rd reading following a motion by the majority leader, Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri(Jada Mbulo).The speaker Aminu Iya Abbas, who presided over the sitting, directed clerk a clean copy for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s assent.
