Stakeholders have emphasized the need to prioritize the education sector in Adamawa State. This call was made during a workshop organized by Connected Development under its Learn to Read project, aimed at strengthening School Monitoring Teams in their role of supporting School-Based Management Committees (SBMC) in Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
The workshop provided participants with essential training on effective school monitoring and supervision. Mubarak Aliyu Sabo Yaro covered the event for NAS FM News.
According to Abdulazeez Abdulmalik Husaini, Program Officer of Connected Development, the workshop was designed to equip School Monitoring Teams with the skills necessary for effective performance. Husaini noted that the *Learn to Read* project, which began in two other states, has seen significant progress, prompting its extension to Adamawa.
Participants, including Reverend Darlington Ndu from Song Local Government Area and Hafsat Isa Ribadu from Fufore Local Government, expressed their appreciation for the timely initiative. They highlighted the importance of the training and expressed their readiness to apply the knowledge gained in improving school activities in their respective communities.
The workshop reinforces Connected Development’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education in Adamawa State and contributing to positive changes in the lives of students and communities.
